week 6 : data analysis and interpretation

I used the website's analysis system. It is automatically will be done after the questions are launched and answered. There will be results and you can take this result and analyze it manually by putting it in the excel sheets. Or automatically it will be done by the website and you have many option to view it in the chart form or pie form or line graph. This is good way to compare the results. week5 : data collection part2

I finished writing the survey on the website and I made prints on paper as well. I gave the survey links to friends and family and also my friends family. All the people I know. The distribution of the survey took at least 1 -2 day.

The respondents are female and male, age 10-50. I am trying to find out what and why people prefer this console (xbox or ps). Most of the answers I get are from the younger generation and the male because they like this type of things.

week 4: data collection part1

"Using critical thinking to make sure your data collection instruments are well-designed."

My data collection tool as mentioned in my last blog will be using paper survey and online survey on .https://freeonlinesurveys.com/login-form/?message=1

There will be 10-15 questions half of them will be qualitative (finding general information) and the other half will be quantitative (finding numbers, statistics and figures). The purpose for this is because the research has to cover all perspective to make the analysis and results accurate. if I use only one kind of type of question we will not find out exactly what we need to know.

I will also do interviews for a few people which is more qualitative than quantitative. this will be general outlook of the topic

So we will use two different data collection tools and both will target for different answers type .

week 3: developing research plan

The Purpose of the research: This research is to find out what people prefer to play PS or XBOX and why they think this console is better than the other.

The Outputs used and communicated: The outputs will be some questions between 10-15 total and we will interview on-on-one. We will survey many people face-to-face and using online surveys then we will gather the information and analyze it.

The types and sources of data needed: I need to read about it from online articles and it should be qualitative and quantitative data to have general outlook about the topic and to know what questions to ask.

The means by which the data will be collected and analysed: I will collect it by paper and online survey. The online one will be by: http://freeonlinesurveys.com/app/dashboard.asp

The same website can analyze the data to make it into pie chart or table. Also I can put it in excel to analyze it more.

The scale of research: I want to target people of the gaming community of all seven Emirates, especially Dubai. The age will be from 10 to 50 years old. The gender doesn't matter.

The resources available: I have few days or 1 week max. and I can do it any time of the day. I need paper, I need intenernet, people (respondents) who are willing to participate and people with knowledge about PS and XBOX. I have many friends and family who will be interested.

week 2: develping research question

Me and colleague came up with an idea of video games, I think it is an interesting topic for the students in DWC. In our opinion we think that many girls now days tend to the games like boys.

So we decided  to do a survey to the students and ask them some questions and compression between Ps vs x-box.

we toasted 3 slices, we chose 3 different setting, we decided to choose first sitting number 4, because its the middle, the result was not too light, then we tried sitting number 6, and we found it slightly dark, then we think if we try sitting number 5 we will get the best result, we tried it and it was the best.
